You’ve likely seen this percolating over the past few days. I posted about this back in July where The Dutch government is planning to buy out and close as many as 3,000 farms in the country as leaders attempt to cut the country’s nitrogen emissions in half by 2030.
If you have lived through the past few years thinking that CV1984 policies were about public health you probably also this this is intentional disruption of the food supply is for the environment. The Netherlands is the second biggest agriculture and food exporter in the world!
This foolishness is becoming contagious and what’s familiar is lack of debate and consensus. Rule by decree. Ted Nordhaus, the executive director of the Breakthrough Institute, said “Global agriculture, in some sense, is zero-sum…if productivity and yields go down in the Netherlands, it means that the demand gets taken up somewhere else”.
This quote from one of the few media outlets covering the story says it all… “This intentional curtailing of food production, that creates the purposeful shortage of food, is where Bill Gates, the WEF and the synthetic meat and bugs for food advocates enter the picture. It appears the plan is to replace the missing global calories by changing the food supply. Changing what and how people eat.”
Lab grown (synthetic) meat, nut/soy milk to replace dairy and bugs being used as replacements for protein sources are the calling cards of these under educated, ego driven and short sighted individuals. I’m being kind because this assessment asserts that they think they are doing good in the world.
I often use a quote from former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, “Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control people.” But here are a few excerpts from Kissinger's speech at the opening of the World Food Conference in 1974: “the United States proposes that a global nutrition surveillance system be established by the World Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.”(1)
A more cynical man would say these sociopaths must control EVERYTHING and food is the perfect linchpin. We all have to eat and since growing your own food is “bad” for the environment…we’ll take care of that for you in a more sustainable and equitable way…see how that works?
There is also this paper from 1974 published in Concerned Demography… “At the convention of the World Food Conference, leaders of the underdeveloped nations hoped to press for changes in international trade relations while U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger hoped to use the conference as a forum to link food shortages to overpopulation.”(2)
“A proposal came in Rome by former U.S. government official Richard Gardner, who suggested a "global survival pact" under which rich nations would conserve food, energy, and raw materials in return for commitments by Third World nations to change their suicidal demographic, agricultural and environmental practices.”
“Another proposal was made by Congressman Jerry Litton who said he would introduce legislation banning food aid to any country with above average population growth and which was not doing anything to reduce it.”
True humanitarians!
Odds that these people end up eating the bugs? Oh and giving up their private jets?
We will tackle the overpopulation issues another time but consider this quote from a 1979 paper in New Internationalist...“This article was written to refute some common misunderstandings regarding worldwide population levels and worldwide nutrition levels. The world food supply is able to keep pace with high population growth levels. World food production currently meets world need; the problem is a distribution system which allocates food only to those who can pay rather than to those who need it.”(3)
In this scenario the thing that I cannot escape is that these people in their infinite “wisdom” have never considered the health impact of their dramatic dietary shift from our evolutionary and diet. Even if you are misguided enough to believe that animal agriculture is an environmental hazard what are we left with at the end of the day? A healthy planet inhabited by an even sicker population?
Its not an irrational question to ask whether these people actually have the health of the public in mind. Even Noam Chomsky has pointed out, in both “old” and “new” world orders the central goal has pivoted around the issue of control: “Control of the population is the major task of any state that is dominated by particular sectors of the domestic society and therefore functions primarily in their interest …”(4) Sadly he has completely lost the plot in the past several years but one has to wonder where this ends.
There is no reasoning with unreasonable people. There will come a point where the grasp becomes too tight and control is lost. The organizing principle of every organism is for survival. These supposed “elite” thinkers have a crude grasp of human biology and psychology. Magic tricks are only magic because you don’t understand how they are done. As their methods becomes clear their grasp will weaken. That is where change happens.
