The role of media in public health has never been more scrutinized than it has today. Rightly so. The media, which was once considered a check on power, has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for it and is not to be trusted.
In December 2004, 3 news stories in the popular press suggested that the side effects of single-dose nevirapine, created to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV, had been covered up. Many HIV experts believed that the stories were unwarranted and that they would undermine use of the drug, leading to a rise in neonatal HIV infection. Where have we heard this story before?
There go those experts again…making decisions for all of us without informed consent.
Some journalists say that their role and responsibility is no different in covering health information than it is in covering politics, business, or any other topic. They are less concerned about the consequences of their story once it is published. But that approach may result in shoddy journalism and potential harm to the public.
“In our current era of entanglement, journalists must investigate and report the possible conflicts of interest among sources of health information and those who promote a new idea or therapy. Such conflicts may not be readily apparent, so journalists must look for them as a routine part of story research and interviews.”
“They must investigate and report the possible links between researchers and private companies, researchers and public institutions, patient advocacy groups and their sponsors, celebrity spokespersons and their sponsors, and nonprofit health and professional organizations and their sponsors. To fail to do so may mean that journalists become unwitting mouthpieces for incomplete, biased, and imbalanced news and information.”
“Journalists face unique challenges in covering health news. Some specialized skills, knowledge, and judgment are helpful. For example, some information based on poorly designed or poorly powered studies should not be reported unless the flaws are emphasized.”
What happened to asking pertinent questions? Are there questions that are “not allowed” to be asked?
During the most important and life altering public health decision made in the past 100 years I saw media completely abandon their posts. For example is there any curiosity about the public report showing a massive 3 million person jump in disability claims? Stay tuned for that.
BlackRock Whistleblower, Ed Dowd and an insurance industry expert dug through CDC Excess Deaths data and found that the… “Millennial age group, 25 to 44 experienced an 84% increase in excess mortality into the fall(2021). It’s the worst-ever excess mortality, I think, in history.”
Dowd continues… “So, just to put some numbers on this, starting in the summer into the fall, with the mandates and the boosters, there were 61,000 excess Millennial deaths.
“Basically, Millennials experienced a Vietnam War in the second half of 2021. 58,000 people died in the Vietnam War, US troops (over the course of 10 years), so this generation just experienced a Vietnam War (in 6 months).”
How is this not front page news…at least to challenge or disprove Dowd’s claims?
How about from page 7 of Pfizer document 5.3.6 where we see that between December 1, 2020 and February 28, 2021 of their BNT162b2 trial…out of 42,086 injections, there were 1,223 deaths! In 3 months! That’s a 2.9% fatality rate. Imagine if COVID 19 actually had that case fatality rate?
If I can do this math and this simple analysis of data, certainly better, more educated people can also do this work. The truth is the media simple chooses their advertisers over its viewers. Plain and simple.
How about the work of computational biologist Jessica Rose? She has analyzed recently release documents on the safety and efficacy of the Moderna injectable product(mRNA-1273) finding some disturbing trends. An pathetic efficacy of 36.8% in 2-5yr olds. This is not to mention that the FDA Limit of Efficacy maintains that efficacy must be 50% over placebo to be approved for use.
The document is titled… “mRNA-1273 PRIMARY SERIES 6 MONTHS TO 17 YEARS SPONSOR BRIEFING DOCUMENT VACCINES AND RELATED BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING DATES: JUNE 14–15, 2022”(1). In it she asks the very pertinent question, what if… “the public was informed that Moderna found that 1/200 children ages 6 to 23 months experienced a severe adverse event within 28 days of injection…” I would like the answer to that question.
All I really want is a media that does its job…is that too much to ask? Apparently so. The media today seems to be as captured of an organization as the FDA. More on this coming soon.
Until then turn OFF your television and turn ON your curiosity.
