I enjoy fasting 18-20 hours a day. It seems very natural. I eliminated all processed foods and sugar from my diet 4 years ago. At 68 years old, I feel awesome, but I wanted proof that I was metabolically healthy, so I recently had 23 different labs done (I know you would like that J.....lol). Other than a slightly high ferritin level, my numbers are fantastic. Thank you for continuing to educate people on the "real" science of good health. Merry Christmas 🌲
Merry Christmas! Who doesn’t love lots of labs😂 life is a constant experiment without a destination. I think the key is understanding that and embracing the idea of never fully knowing and always doing what you can. Remain humble and always curious. Much like the community here!
Congratulations on 10,000 downloads 🥳 there are a couple of things I want to comment on this episode:
1. I am surprised that Guatemala is in 5th place, I mean, where is that place anyways? 😆
2. Inception! Omg, Inception is one of my favorite movies. I went 3 times to the theater to see it cos I was obsessed 🤩
3. Fasting is not for all. There are people who think they can eat hamburgers and crap and get away with it with fasting but that’s a bad combination. Not only they are not nourishing themselves but they are causing a lot of inflammation. And I have seen people do that, not only on the internet, but in real life. They don’t understand the role fasting has in metabolic health. It’s dangerous when people want to cheat their way into losing weight but don’t do the actual work to heal.
4. J, there is nothing wrong with eating like a bird and fasting. I mean, I eat like a bird… a prehistoric bird but still 😆
5. Daryl has touched a very important point on people who do Crossfit and eating junk food. I believe a lot of those crossfitters train to get away with eating crap 💩 and then they get injured 🤦♀️
6. Come on Daryl, Labs are J’s favorite Xmas gift 🎁
Thank you for having my back my friend! 🤣 Labs are the gift that keep on giving!!
I agree with all your points too. Fasting is potent but when paired with a healthy overall lifestyle it can be even more powerful. I never understood the unwilling to change mindset although I will say, once upon a time, I was in that calories camp and used to think I could literally outrun a poor diet. I was running 50 miles per week and eating a “healthy western diet” it didn’t work. I have never been in better shape now that I include fasting and no more fear of red meat and healthy fats! 21 year old J didn’t know as much as he thought he did😂

Amazing work on eliminating all processed foods! That's not an easy task for most. I hope your Christmas is good to you :)
